Summa Health’s location in Summit County has put us at ground zero of the opioid crisis. In response, we have taken a multifaceted approach to battling this growing epidemic. From the “First Step” program at the Barberton Campus Emergency Department and Vivitrol^® Clinic at the St. Thomas Campus to the system-wide effort to decrease opioid use during and after surgical procedures, Summa Health is committed to making a difference. “The ultimate goal is to bring stability back to patients’ lives,” says Jaimie McKinnon, Vice President, Summa Health Behavioral Health Institute.
