Treating the Patient and the Family

When their heroic son was seriously injured in a late-night shooting, David and Chris Wokaty of New Franklin, OH, feared the worst. Thanks to Summa Health's highly trained Emergency and Intensive Care teams, their son was healed and they had their prayers answered.

David and Chris were at church on a Sunday morning last fall when they received word that their son, David Jr. aka "Big Dave," was shot as he tried to help in a violent and ultimately deadly situation at an East Akron pub.

"Big Dave" was a hero that night and, fortunately, recovered from his wounds. To his parents, the Summa Health teams were heroes, too.
