Population Health Guides Us In Our Communities

The very essence of the concept of “population health” is ultimately to maintain the health of the community as a whole. Summa Health goes to the core of that mission by holding health fairs in and around Summit County. These health fairs provide an opportunity for generally underserved populations to visit with a physician and ask questions, get their blood pressure checked or have other health screenings, pick up health related information, and learn lifesaving maneuvers, such as CPR.

Dr. Russell Platt, who has been with Summa Health for more than 50 years, is a fixture at many of these   community events. With a gentle approach and a disarming smile, Dr. Platt reviews various health concerns with the attendees and greets the many familiar faces he encounters, many of whom are, or used to be, his patients.
